UGC NET Results 2024: How to Access Your Scorecards

This year, the June session of the UGC NET was rescheduled and conducted from August 21 to September 4, following the cancellation of the June 18 exam.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is expected to release the results for the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2024 June session re-exam soon. Candidates can check their results on the official UGC NET website once they are announced.

To access their UGC NET 2024 results, candidates will need their application number and date of birth, along with the correct security code.

The June session was postponed after an investigation revealed that the exam paper was allegedly distributed on the darknet on June 16, two days before the test. However, it was later determined that the exam may not have been leaked. When the provisional answer keys were released, many students reported significant errors, with over 30 incorrect answers out of the 150 questions in some disciplines.

The UGC NET is conducted twice a year—in June and December—to assess the eligibility of Indian candidates for the Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor positions, and admissions to PhD programs across the country.

The UGC NET consists of two papers: the first paper is common to all candidates, while the second paper is subject-specific, based on the candidate’s specialization. A total of 83 subjects are offered in the second paper, including Hindi, English, Kannada, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Arabic, linguistics, Nepali, Marathi, Telugu, Urdu, Chinese, Dogri, Manipuri, Assamese, Gujarati, Persian, French, Spanish, Russian, Rajasthani, labor welfare, library and information science, mass communication, and journalism.

The combined duration for the two papers is three hours, and candidates must attempt both in a single session without a break. The exam consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with a total of 150 questions: 50 in Paper 1 and 100 in Paper 2. Importantly, there is no negative marking in the exam.
