Notification:
The establishment of both the kidney transplant facilities and the iron removal plant forms a vital component of the government's comprehensive strategy to enhance healthcare services across the state. Collaborative efforts between the Public Works Departments (PWD), Electrical Departments, and other pertinent authorities are underway to expedite the completion of all pending works efficiently.
In a significant development for healthcare in Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Thursday that GB Pant Hospital will soon be equipped to perform kidney transplant procedures.
This announcement followed his inspection visit to GB Pant Hospital and Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC). During his visit, Saha underscored the ongoing advancements at the hospital, including the reorganization of offices to accommodate seven new super specialty outpatient departments.
Additionally, Saha addressed concerns regarding the quality of water within the hospital premises, revealing plans for the installation of an iron removal plant. This initiative aims to mitigate the high iron content in the water, thereby contributing to improved health and sanitation standards at the facility.
"A team of doctors and staff has been sent to Manipur for training, and they have returned. We are preparing to open these facilities soon," he elaborated. Discussions on medication, equipment maintenance, and quality control with doctors and staff have also been integral to the process.
The establishment of both the kidney transplant facilities and the iron removal plant aligns with the government's broader objective of enhancing healthcare services statewide. Ongoing consultations with the Public Works Department (PWD), the electrical department, and other relevant authorities are underway to ensure the efficient completion of all pending works.
The community and prospective patients of GB Pant Hospital express optimism about these forthcoming enhancements, anticipating a substantial improvement in the quality of healthcare services provided.
