Institutes of National Importance play a crucial role in postgraduate and postdoctoral education by offering opportunities to train future teachers and encouraging them to actively participate in teaching exercises. Additionally, these institutes consolidate top-tier educational facilities in one place to train personnel in critical health-related fields and work toward achieving self-sufficiency in postgraduate medical education. The educational principles and practices they follow are specifically designed to meet the nation's needs.

INI-SS aims to conduct a common entrance test that generates a merit list based on the evaluation and admission criteria of various Institutes of National Importance. This process ensures that each candidate receives a seat based on their overall performance.
