NEET UG 2024 Counselling : Essential Information Before MCC Releases Schedule

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET UG 2024 counselling. Results were already declared on June 4 on its official website. After resolving some legal issues, the NTA released the updated scorecard and cut-off marks for the 2024 session.

Students must register at mcc.nic.in to participate in the NEET UG 2024 counselling process once the official notification is released. However, simply registering does not guarantee an undergraduate seat in a medical college. Admission depends on meeting the merit requirements, admission criteria, eligibility, and other conditions set by universities, medical institutions, the Medical Council of India, and state or central governments.

Both state and central counselling are conducted by different authorities. The Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare oversees the central counselling for NEET UG. They conduct online counselling for 15% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats for undergraduate courses, 50% of AIQ seats for postgraduate courses, and all seats for super-specialty courses (DM/MCh).
