NEET PG 2024 : Exam Set for 500 Trusted Centers in Two Shifts

The NEET-PG exam, the qualifying test for postgraduate medical studies, is scheduled for August 11 and will be conducted at 500 "trusted" centers, according to sources. For the first time, the exam will be held in two shifts, a change made after the National Board of Examinations decided to reduce the number of centers from 1,200 due to concerns about security and paper leaks.

The exam, originally set for June 23, was postponed as a precautionary measure. To further prevent cheating, officials have ensured that all students are assigned centers in the same cities as their addresses listed on their forms. Previously, candidates could choose centers across the country, but now they must take the exam at a location near their registered address.

This year also marks the first time that NEET PG scores will need to be normalized, as students will be given different papers in the two shifts. Since its inception in 2018, the exam had not required normalization because all students previously took the same test at the same time.
