Notification:
New Delhi – The Dental Council of India (DCI) has directed all dental colleges to upload the details of students admitted to the BDS program for the 2024–25 academic session. Colleges must upload these details on the DCI website using their new login credentials before the final joining deadline, set for November 5, 2024, at midnight.
The DCI warned that any claims of admission after the 12:00 midnight deadline on November 5, 2024, would invoke Section 1013 of the Dentists (Amendment) Act, 1993 and/or Section 16A of the Dentists Act, 1948, depending on the case. This will imply that the college has not admitted the student(s) for the BDS course in the 2024-25 session.
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India, has released the revised online counseling schedule for NEET-UG 2024. This schedule, available on both the MCC and DCI websites, extends the final date for joining the BDS course to November 5, 2024. The academic session is set to commence on October 1, 2024, as per the MCC’s revised schedule.
To avoid delays and technical issues during the uploading process, DCI has urged colleges to gradually upload student details immediately after each round of counseling, rather than waiting for the final cut-off date. The final deadline for uploading student details remains 12:00 midnight on November 5, 2024.
The DCI also highlighted concerns about some colleges uploading details of students not admitted to their institution, causing issues for the college where the student is actually enrolled. Colleges have been strictly warned to upload only the genuine and bona fide admissions from their own institution. The responsibility for submitting true, accurate, and authentic information rests solely with the college, and any incorrect information may lead to penalties from the DCI.
Only the details uploaded on the DCI portal will be forwarded to State Dental Councils/Tribunals for the registration of BDS degrees. The DCI emphasized that any student details received via email, hard copy, or any other format will not be considered.
The notice further stated that no requests for extensions or excuses for technical issues would be entertained. Colleges are required to ensure that they complete the task on time to avoid any legal complications and enable the DCI to take necessary action promptly.
