NEET UG 2024 Registration Hits Record High Surpasses 23 Lakh Mark Highest in 7 Years

NEET UG 2024 Registration: A stunning record number of applications for the academic year 2024–25 have been submitted for NEET UG 2024, with approximately 24 lakh registrations. For 2087462 students, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administered the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) at 4097 different Centers spread over 499 locations across the nation, including 14 places outside of India, last year. In the meantime, 18,72,343 students have signed up to take the 2022 medical admission exam. According to estimates, there was a notable surge in the number of registered students in 2024 (almost 3 lakhs) when compared to NEET 2023 registration. This was the largest increase in seven years.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) – 2024 on May 5, 2024 (Sunday), from 02:00 P.M. to 05:20 P.M. (Indian Standard Time). This examination will be conducted in Pen & Paper mode (offline) across various centers in India and abroad. View the number of applicants who have registered each year below:-

For admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET (UG)) must be administered as a common and uniform test in accordance with Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. On the other hand, all medical institutions covered by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, under Section 14, mandate that applicants to undergraduate courses in any of the disciplines that is, BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine have a uniform NEET (UG). The National Commission for Homeopathy will also use NEET (UG) for admission to BHMS courses.
