Kerala’s Healthcare Gets Rs 69.35 Crore Push Under National Health Mission

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George announced that the Central Government has allotted Rs sixty nine.35 crore under the National Health Mission (2024-25) for the enhancement of healthcare facilities throughout the nation.

She highlighted that numerous new projects had been accredited, together with construction works amounting to Rs 69.35 lakh geared toward upgrading the infrastructure of healthcare establishments. Development sports have been sanctioned for 29 healthcare establishments in overall.

Notable allocations include Rs 6.16 crore for constructing a 50-bed mother and childcare middle at Kanjirappally General Hospital in Kottayam, Rs 4.70 crore every for the construction of warehouses in Kollam and Kozhikode, and Rs four.Five crore for new OP and IP blocks at Tata Hospital in Kasaragod. Additionally, Rs three.33 crore has been set aside for a talent lab and schooling middle in Malappuram, and Rs three.87 crore for the preservation of the OP block and casualty at Palluruthy Taluk Hospital.

Further, Rs three crore has been allotted for strengthening the diagnostic block at Pathanamthitta General Hospital, Rs 1.70 crore for building team of workers quarters at Edamalakudy in Idukki, and every other Rs 3 crore to enhance the gynecology branch at Idukki District Hospital.

Additional funds include Rs 1.50 crore for the pediatric ward at Perinthalmanna District Hospital in Malappuram and for strengthening the IP block at Vythiri Hospital in Wayanad. Moreover, Rs 2.10 crore has been special for the casualty block at Pazhayangadi Hospital in Kannur, and Rs 3.Eleven crore for the protection of the operation theater at Kanhangad District Hospital in Kasaragod. The minister stated that these tasks are supplementary to the continued improvement tasks in hospitals.
