NEET UG 2024: New Merit List and Cut-Off Details Post Supreme Court Ruling

The Supreme Court of India refused the requests to order the cancellation and the re-organisation of the undergraduate medical entrance test which was fraught with scandals. Therefore, it is for the above-said reasons that the merit list has been declared with the changes.

NTA NEET UG Result 2024 Live: The NTA (National Testing Agency) has unleashed the modified NEET UG 2024 final answer of the key and scorecard. The revised merit list was declared after considering the correct options for the physics questions. Now, 17 candidates share rank 1 with 720 marks and a 99.9992714 percentile after the revision.

The Supreme Court dismissed the pleas seeking the cancellation and re-test of NEET, which faced controversies this year. You can access the NEET UG 2024 revised result link at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/.

This year, 67 students achieved the all-India rank 1. Of these, six made the list because they received extra marks for time lost during the examination due to invigilator mistakes. Forty-four topped because they answered a physics question incorrectly and received grace marks. With the revised result announcement, candidate ranks will change, as the Supreme Court decided on one accurate answer, and anyone responding differently will not receive marks for it. Consequently, these 44 candidates now have their scores revised to 715 out of 720. The remaining 14 candidates, who scored 720, and another 70 candidates who scored 716, will now rank higher.

This year, the cut-off for general and general-PH category candidates rose from last year's range of 720-137 to 720-164. The NTA determines the NEET UG percentile based on the highest marks scored in the all-India common merit list in NEET UG 2024, and the percentile will also change. This year, 24,06,079 students registered for the medical entrance test, and 23,33,297 appeared.
