The results of the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance exam have been released, with boys securing all the top ranks. Devanand P from Alappuzha emerged as the topper, followed by Hafiz Rehman Elikkottil from Malappuram. Impressively, 87 boys ranked in the top 100. This year, the exam was conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) for the first time, with 52,500 candidates passing out of 79,044 participants. Among those who ranked in the top 5,000, 2,034 were Kerala syllabus students and 2,785 were CBSE students.
In THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Higher Education Minister R Bindu announced the results at a news conference on Thursday. Devanand P of Alappuzha secured the first rank, followed by Hafiz Rehman Elikkottil of Malappuram in the second position. The first four rank holders achieved scores of 591.6145/600, with their ranks determined based on the marks scored in Mathematics as per the provisions laid out in the prospectus. Allen Johny Anil and Jorden Joy, both from Kottayam, secured the third and fourth ranks respectively.
A total of 87 boys were among the top 100 ranks in this year’s CBT exam. Druv Sumesh of Alappuzha and Abhijit Lal of Idukki secured the top spots among SC and ST candidates, with scores of 546.99 and 475.9380 respectively.
The entrance test was held from June 5 to 10 at various centers including New Delhi, Mumbai, and Dubai. Out of the 79,044 candidates, 52,500 (27,524 girls and 30,815 boys) passed the exam. Unfortunately, the only transgender candidate who appeared did not secure a place in the rank list.
Ernakulam district had the highest number of candidates in the rank list (6,568) and also the most candidates in the top 100 ranks (24), followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 15 candidates.
A breakdown by school board shows that among the 36,390 Kerala syllabus students who appeared, 2,034 ranked in the top 5,000. From the 14,541 CBSE students, 2,785 made it to the top 5,000, and of the 1,079 ISC students, 162 were in the top 5,000 ranks.
The results were announced a month after the exam, with the Government agency C-DIT providing technical support for the test, which was modeled on the JEE format. The questions were prepared by experts identified by the Collegiate Education Directorate.
